CHINESE iPHONE RIOTS. Fighting as Apple Refuses to Sell New iPhone 4S in Beijing. People had queued up overnight in the freezing cold in Beijing, China, outside the Apple store there for the release of the new iPhone 4S on sale. The store was due to open at 7am, but the crowd was too large and an announcement was made that they would not be selling it that day. That sparked riots and fights broke out, with security staff being assaulted and eggs being throwat the windows of the Apple store. When shoppers refused to leave, the Police were called in and arrested several people. |
