	Pan Am Railways LA-1 in Salem, MA I knew there was a train in the area, but I thought I might've missed it until I heard the unmistakable sound of approaching diesel. I pulled out my new Canon PowerShot and began filming, only to have the battery die right then and there. I got my trusty iPhone out immediately and began shooting with that, and not a moment too soon: Pan Am's Maine Central GP40 #378 was right there in front of me. After jumping onto the MBTA's Newburyport/Rockport Line and riding it into Boston, the LA-1 switcher ditched the freight cars and headed up to Billerica via the MBTA's Lowell Line.
