Intel was founded in 1968 by Gordon Moore, Robert Noyce and Arthur Rock. Last year Intel and Apple collaborated to produce the Thunderbolt standard, promising transfers of 10 gigabits per second. Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based QLogic was founded in 1994.
