This video is the Huawei U8800 IDEOS X5. We made sure that all background apps were disabled before making these two videos simultaneously. The two smart phones are recording in HD video side-by-side. Raw video means recorded on the phone camera and directly loaded up to YouTube without any 'movie-maker' software being used. The Huawei U8800 camera does NOT do true HD - the recorded .3gp bit-rate is only 12kbps. The frame-rate drops right back in low-light conditions for the cheaper, less-capable smartphone cameras.This Huawei camera-phone produced a picture that looked like a stocking was pulled over the lens and had poor sound quality. The sound bit-rate is so low that Windows Movie-Maker would not even convert it for the upload to Youtube! The iPhone has a dual-CPU with a faster and more capable GPU and video algorithm, larger lens & aperture, and so it's no wonder it performs better. But the phone cost about three times the price of the Huawei. |
