Logic Pro 9.1.6, MainStage 2.2: Basic Content may appear not to be installed

If you open MainStage 2.2 or Logic Pro 9.1.6 from a volume other than the startup disk (such as an external hard drive), you may be asked to download additional content. That content may download but not install. This can occur if you purchased these applications from the Mac App Store.
