Pyle PWMA930I PA System with ipod iphone dock review

I was a little hesitant to buy this PA system after reading some of the more negative reviews. But the price was very attractive, and I figured that I couldn't go too far wrong. I am pleased to report that the Pyle-Pro PWMA930I has exceeded my expectations. A couple of customers complained about a loud hissing noise, but the one that I received does not have any problems in that area. Overall, the sound quality is quite good, and the volume is more than sufficient for my needs (a gathering of about 75 people). The wireless microphone works well and seems to be of fairly good quality. As others have reported, you have to talk directly into the mic (lips touching the screen). If you hold it even an inch away from your mouth, the volume drops to an unusable level. This is surely due to the feedback reduction system, which seems to be very effective. Both the volume and sound quality are very good when playing from an MP3 player or computer. I don't have a compatible ipod, so I can't comment on the docking feature. The bass response doesn't produce the super-lows of a sub-woofer, but the sound is still very acceptable for a party setting. Some distortion was noted at high volume levels, but I really don't need (or want) to crank the volume all the way up. I have not had a reason to call for service, so I can't comment on the manufacturer's response. Some other buyers have noted a weakness in that area. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.
