This is a demo using the iPhone with "iSDR" software for reception on the 20 meter, amateur radio band. A device known as 'GuitarJack' is plugged into the iPhone to provide necessary, stereo input for the signals produced by a Softrock Ensemble, SDR receiver front end. The signal is then demodulated (and many other things) by the "iSDR" application in the iPhone. In this case I have the audio output from "iSDR" connected to the 'Surround Xi' speaker (Red tube - I have also wound a dipole antenna on each side of the tube for use in a portable application...believe it or not it works if the signals are strong enough, but in this application I am using a G5RV antenna of 204 foot length.) also via the 'GuitarJack'. I also have the Softrock USB output connected to an Aspire One netbook for the purpose of selecting the Local Oscillator frequency of interest. (Any place between 850 KHz and 30 MHz.) Once set the iSDR software can tune approximately 22KHz each side of the LO selected. I am using the netbook only to tune to an LO frequency which then must be entered into the iSDR software for its frequency readout to be calibrated correctly. You might note that at the end when you hear CW, that the frequency readout still indicates an SSB portion of the band since I did not take time to make the change in the LO within the iSDR software.
