Gmail Exchange iPhone Trash Folder Fix

When setting up your Gmail account as Exchange on the iPhone, you run into a problem. When deleting an email from the Mail app, it moves the message to the Archive folder on Gmail. This can be pretty annoying since your intention is to delete the email, not archive it! In order to have the emails sent to the Trash folder, rather than the Archive folder, follow these steps. Note: This is for Gmail accounts that are setup via Exchange. 1. Go to m.google.com/sync from your iPhone. 2. You will see a list of devices that are configured to use Gmail. 3. Tap on the relevant device, in this case the iPhone. 4. You will now see the option to Enable "Delete Email as Trash". Select this option and save your settings. Now when you delete an email, it will go to the Trash folder.
