The iPhone 3GS is extremely powerful, as it is based on the ARM Cortex A8 processor clocked at 600MHz, and has a PowerVR SGX. The GP2X WIZ on the other hand, has just and ARM926EJ 533Mhz but when overclocked to 800Mhz (safe value for mine although it can reach 833Mhz) can face the ARM Cortex A8 processor clocked at 600MHz. The gp2x version is an older one gpSP-0.9 Meanwhile the iphone version is gpSPhone 1.1.2 The iphone version should be much faster because the wiz's version is outdated. I have to say that to achieve this speed i had ram tweaks on! The wiz was really powerful and i could say a leading device for its time! The iphone does also a good job. I imagine that the OS in each gadget has a lot to affect and so does the programming of the port of the emulator. The only drawback I see on the iphone is the lack of buttons whi You can see in this video that Pokemon Emerald is running at around 150 to 225 FPS (frames per second), with sound and 0 frameskip! |
