Another round of rumors about the next iPhone, whatever it's called. iLounge has the supposed specs: 4" screen, flat metal back, new dock connector, 20% thinner. And that's not all that's changing. "As the new iPhone won't widen, this appears to confirm that Apple will change the new iPhone's aspect ratio for the first time since the original iPhone was introduced in 2007, adding additional pixels to the top and bottom of the screen." And that's creating some serious grist for the rumor mill. After all, Pocket Lint notes, a change in aspect ratio could create some developer headaches. "... that change in aspect ratio would mean that every developer would have to update their app to cope with the new screen resolution and dimensions -- something that here at Pocket-lint we think Apple might not be ready to force on people." Au contraire, says iDownloadBlog. The site shows off what a French designer thinks the sixth-generation Liquidmetal iPhone might look like. And the site says, remember that word — Liquidmetal. "The use of the new metallic glass alloy would let Apple create a stronger, lighter and thinner iPhone ... The question is, would Apple really buck its own trend and blow up the iPhone's display to a whopping 4.5 inches?" But webpronews isn't buying into that hype, saying, liquidmetal is overblown.
