On Thursday, well-known French iOS hacker Pod2g joined the party and revealed that he had managed to run the untethered jailbreak on the new iPad running on iOS 5.1. The announcement came a week after the hacker had told his Twitter followers that he successfully ran iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak on his iPhone 4. Pod2g said that he was "stabilizing the payload" method, and once he was done with that, he would try to jailbreak the new iPad on iOS 5.1.1, which is the most recent version of iOS released till date. "Hey. iPad 3,1 running iOS 5.1 untethered. Next on the list: stabilizing the payload, then trying 5.1.1," Pod2g tweeted. The hacker also uploaded a demo video of the untethered jailbreak in action on his blog. The video (can be found at the end) shows an iPad 3 running Cydia and going through a reboot.
