Sparrow to charge for push notifications with yearly subscriptions Sparrow said push notifications were coming with or without Apple. Apparently Apple decided not to extend the privilege of VOIP apps to Sparrow. The company said it wouldn't implement push notifications itself due to security and cost concerns, but today the Sparrow blog post announced Sparrow v1.2 will soon begin offering push through a yearly subscription: Since Apple wouldn't allow this feature Sparrow going to have to do the Push on there side and charge for it which well be a yearly subscription. We well see this later on this year. There no price yet for the yearly subscription. Now for Jailbroken iPhone users they already have this access to push functionality from a Cydia tweak called Sparrow Push. My questions for you today is "Would you Jailbreak your iPhone so you wouldn't have to pay for the subscription? Would you even bother to pay for a yearly subscription? |
