Philips Shoqbox Bluetooth Portable Speaker System SB7200 – rugged travel speaker

I mentioned in a separate review that the market for small Bluetooth speakers is surprising large. In the video portion of this review I show three - the Philips SB7300), the Philips SB7200 (the product I am reviewing), and the Monster iClarity. Another option (while I am not reviewing it is the [[ASIN:B004E10KI8 Jawbone JAMBOX Wireless Bluetooth Speaker - Black Diamond - Retail Packaging]] ). The SB7200 is intended for people who are demanding in both in terms of sound performance, battery life, and ruggedness ( I think it achieves two of these very well!) Notes on the SB7200 - The speaker features 2 speakers - it is relatively loud, but it probably can't entirely fill a room. - Sound quality - For the price point, I am not overly impressed with the sound. The speaker sounds rather flat at both the high and low ends. It does not have a lot of range on the low end (which is understandable due to its size) .As you can see in the video portion of the review the SB7200 underperforms compared the the Monster iClarity HD (which is significantly less expensive) and (especially) the Philips SB7300. - The Philips Shoqbox SB7200 does live up to its name - it is one rugged little speaker. The entire speaker is encased in a hard rubberizes exo-skelton. The speaker has some resistance to water. Other than its weight (which is still pretty light at 2lbs) the SB7200 is a perfect speaker for outdoor activity. It may not be loud enough to fill a large area, but it is perfect for aa camp ...
