Welcome to App Wednesday! Each Wednesday I will review an App for the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or Mac and today's app is Amazing Alex. Amazing Alex is the latest release from Rovio the creators of Angry Birds. It looks and works on a similar basis to Angry Birds in some respects and falls into the genre of physics based puzzle game. The game is broken down into various stages and there are a number of stars to collect within each stage, three per level. Each level sets you a challenge that needs to be completed using the items given to you in the toolbox. Not only do you have to complete the challenge but you also have to collect the stars that are dotted around the level, which is easier said than done. Challenges are completed by tapping and dragging items to position them within the level so that they can interact with the various objects around them. There might not necessarily be one way to complete the level either leaving you free to decide on your own solution. You can also create your own levels using the in built level creator and these levels can then be shared with your friends for them to play or you can upload them so that anyone in the world can download it. In the Downloaded Levels section you too can view and download all the levels that other players have created, giving you an endless supply of levels. A great game that follows in the footsteps of Angry Birds and is bound to be just as addictive to any puzzler who is looking to kill many a frustrating <b>...</b> |
