It has been a year since Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple and the man credited for the iPod, iPhone and iPad, passed away. Jobs' legend looms large on Apple and the technology industry as a whole and even competitors acknowledge his immense contribution to this field. To mark Jobs' first death anniversary, Apple published an emotional video on its home page, showing the life and times of the visionary man. The background track of the video comprises excerpts from keynote speeches delivered by Jobs during product launches. The video starts with Jobs quoting Wayne Gretzky "I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been," while introducing the first iPhone. Apple website also has a note from current CEO Tim Cook, talking about Jobs' and his contribution to the company. Below is Cook's message remembering Jobs: Steve's passing one year ago today was a sad and difficult time for all of us. I hope that everyone will reflect on his extraordinary life and the many ways he made the world a better place. One of the greatest gifts Steve gave to the world is Apple. No company has ever inspired such creativity or set such high standards for itself. Our values originated from Steve and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We share the great privilege and responsibility of carrying his legacy into the future. It's a wonderful tribute to Steve's memory and everything he stood for.
