Cloud Computing: Galaxy Tab Injunction Lifted; Samsung Sues iPhone 5
Late Monday Judge Lucy Koh lifted the temporary injunction she ordered in June forbidding Samsung to sell its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the United States.
She said the jury that decided Samsung should pay Apple $1.05 billion for infringing its patents didn’t find that it infringed the Apple D'889 design patent that the injunction was based on. “Thus, the sole basis for the June 26 preliminary injunction no longer exists.”
The jury did find the Tab infringed two other Apple patents and Apple may get the jury’s D'889 finding overturned after a hearing scheduled for December 6.
