Mac Quick Tips – Setting Up and Using Time Machine

It's very useful because it automatically performs a back up once an hour as long as your Mac is on and the drive is plugged in. To enable Time Machine you need to get into System Preferences and click on the Time Machine preference pane. Once you're here you can click on Select Disk and you'll be given the choice as to what hard drive you have plugged in you'd like to use. Once you've selected the drive, Time Machine will automatically being the first back-up. This may take a while, as it'll be the first back-up Time Machine will have performed. From there Time Machine will back-up your Mac once an hour.
