I purchased an IMEI unlock on ebay for $7.99. Being the DOTE that I am, I failed to follow the instructions provided to me. This is the steps I tried instead. Strangely, I doubt this will work for other people, but you guys out their are more then welcome to try. These steps do not require a system backup or restore (ie you don't have to upgrade your firmware to latest iOS firmware). What you will need to unlock your phone is 2 things: 1) Wi-Fi internet connection 2) A non AT&T Micro Sim Card (ie I used a T-mobile micro sim) Okay now to the interesting thing: a) Turn on your phone. b) Insert your t-mobile sim card c) It will now say your phone is not activated. You will need to now activate the phone. d) It will ask you for an internet connection. e) select the wifi connection and click next. f) it will now say it is activating the phone and will take a few min. g) wait.. and your phone will eventually get unlocked. If it didn't work.. I did happen to connect my iphone to my computer and open Itunes at step b). When I tried to click on the iphone icon in Itunes it said that my iPhone was not activated. |
