The business of recorded music in Western markets currently undergoing two simultaneous tectonic shifts; YouTube rises as a major music platform
LONDON, UK (12 February 2014) – Consumer and advertising revenue from recorded music in North America and Western Europe is expected to increase for the first time since 2010, according to a new report from IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), the leading global source of critical information and insight.
IHS forecasts that by 2018, revenue will increase slightly from $12 billion to almost $13 billion as consumers shift towards streaming services.
