This Walkthrough is for use with a Mac and an iPhone 3GS. It works with the old bootrom and the late 2009 "fixed" bootrom, but you are doing this at your own risk. You also want to make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes. Have PwnageTool and your iPhone firmware in a single folder. Open PwnageTool, choose iPhone3GS and use the expert mode. Click to browse for your firmware and select it, and you can begin building your hacked package. Make sure you do not enable the baseband update. Make sure to tell it to activate the phone and install cydia. The program will stitch together your custom software and asked to you save it. Get ready, because the PwnageTool is going to walk you through putting your phone into DFU mode so that you can install the custom software. Follow the instructions exactly.
