"You Don't Need A Smart Phone to Be A Smart Driver" Music provided by Kevin MacLeod at www.incompetech.com Video contest hosted by http Everyone's talking about the iPhone 4S and its latest installment: Siri--the Speech Interpretation and Recognition Interface. I think the idea of creating technological substitutions for daily tasks is comical and sometimes unnecessary. I thought it would be fun to re-invent Siri as Sara: the Safety in Automobile Regulation Assistant. I created the video with the concept of Siri in mind, especially the commercials with Zooey Deschanel and Samuel Jackson. I wanted to stress that the cell phone--including new technologies that are intended to "make life easier"--can sometimes just make things a little more complicated than they need to be. And when things are complicated, they have the potential to distract the driver and cause accidents that never should have happened. Technology like Siri/Sara can be beneficial, but it should not be a substitution for everything, especially safe driving. PS Good luck to all the other competitors out there! :) |
