The Dark Knight Rises Game Review (iPhone, Android)

Taking on the task of making a videogame on what is arguably the most anticipated movie in history is a huge challenge, that challenge is multiplied exponentially when your game has to be a mobile phone app. Luckily, Gameloft is no stranger to such epic quests. The game puts you in the role of Batman in a massive (for a smartphone) city, and has you progress through 6 unique chapters as you ride your bat motorcycle (batcycle?) through the gritty, gothic streets of Gotham, fight gangs of dastardly fiends, and try to bring super villains to justice. The game is pure, unadulterated action-adventure in a gloomy sandbox world, while also featuring a few puzzle elements to mix things up a bit. The game even delves a little into RPG archetypes as the EXP you gain from fighting and completing quests can be used to improve batman's equipment. While the controls and game mechanics might not be as smooth as some of Batman's console counterparts, they are in fact quite impressive for an iPhone or Android device. Update: Several people have been reporting freezing/lag issues and other, more minor bugs Why listen to me over bigger reviewing organizations like IGN, gamespot, G4, or gametrailers? Well, I don't just review games from the eyes of a technical, professional reviewer. I also review games from the perspective of an actual gamer.
