Chirp is a new app that uses sound to exchange data - photos, links, notes - between iPhones and sonn Android phones.(chirp.io It could have all sorts of applications - you could send a chirp over the radio and an audience of millions could receive some visual information. Or may be it's just an amusing gimmick which people will use for a while to exchange photos in the pub, then forget. Anyway, I've decided to try an experiment - if you watch this video with the Chirp app open, and the volume up pretty high you should receive some photos and other information. Let me know if it works once the sound has been compressed by YouTube. I'm intrigued by this app, created by a team at UCL, but can't make up my mind how big it is going to be. Let's experiment.... |
