Fluance High Performance 2.1 Wood Tower Speaker Dock FiTSD600

I have reviewed over a dozen ipod docks, and many of them have been quite good. Docks by Bose (Soundlink), Altec Lansing (like the IMT 810) Logitech (715i), and Philips (he Fidelio Series) all have some nice sounding products. However, none of them, are even close, to the the Fluance FiTSD600. You can see it, to some extent, in the video review but this speaker has fantastic sound. The Fluance Tower is big.... it is about 4 feet tall and weighs about 35lbs (15Kg), so it does take up a fair amount of room. In fact, it is large enough that it may be too large for a standard dorm room. It also delivers with power - a 36 watt amplifier is able to provide plenty of volume and it has the power to deliver solid and crisp bass. Notes - - While it sounds great right out of the box - allowing the speaker to break-in for about 20-30hours will help bring out a little more overall depth. - Great look - the solid wood case adds to the weight (not that weight is a matter) and gives the speaker a very classy look. The speaker has the finish of a glossy black grand piano. - Sound - again, to me, this is clearly the best sounding iPod dock on the market. The speaker is neither punchy or bright, but it offers plenty of bass and a very clean frequency response all the way to top of the frequency response. - AM and FM Radio - The Fluance FiTSD600 has a built in tuner. It doesn't seem like much, but I do enjoy have a built in tuner built into the dock. You also have the ability to save <b>...</b>
