The Spontaneous Pop-Up Display (a $349 pledge on Kickstarter) is a nifty idea: It lets you create a large, desktop-monitor-sized display for your iOS device or MacBook—but does it with a device that’s a bit like a pop-up tent, meaning it’s very portable, easy to set up and break down. Apparently it’s a popular idea: The makers had a Kickstarter goal of raising $33,000 to get the SPUD into production; with a month left to go they’ve already raised more than $440,000.
