The numbers game: 8 does not equal 8

Happy Apple event day! If you have been living in a sensory-depravation tank for the last 12 months… well, lucky you. Your one mistake was getting out, really. But you may not know that, according to recent leaks, the iPhone 8 will not be priced at close to $1,000!

That is because the 8 is not going to be the 8. As it appears, Apple will be skipping the iPhone 7s moniker and calling this year’s iterative release the iPhone 8. The high-end iPhone everyone’s been tearing their hair out over recent months will be the iPhone X and, no, the Macalope is not offering a pronunciation for that.
